Opportunity growing up

Every child and young person should have the opportunity to be the best they can be. Sometimes they don't succeed on their own. That's when help is important. That help can come through Impuls, for example, or through extra money or items that are needed.

As a parent/guardian, are you interested in one or more of the facilities listed? If so, contact the provider(s) for more information.

Flow childcare works at all branches with early childhood education (VVE). In the VVE program Speelplezier, playing comes first. The language is offered and repeated in a challenging and creative way. In this way, any language and developmental delays are quickly discovered and addressed. Where necessary, Flow deploys specialists such as speech therapists or youth health care or our employees offer children extra guidance.

Teaching Box Opportunity: "Breaking the Circle of Poverty"

The lesson box Kansrijk of the Positive Minds Foundation is specially designed for group 7 & 8 of the elementary school and the lower secondary school. The box contains books, assignments and discussion cards that help teachers to discuss the topic of poverty in a safe and accessible way in the classroom.

The teaching kit ties in with citizenship, social-emotional development and reading promotion and helps students develop empathy and understanding. Thus, poverty becomes less of a taboo and children learn that everyone can participate, regardless of home situation.

Early childhood education (VVE and VVE home)

Early childhood education (VVE) offers young children a fun and stimulating start on their learning journey. In a safe and playful environment, toddlers discover language, math, playing together and new skills together. In this way, any disadvantages are recognized early and addressed naturally.

For parents, VVE means that their child receives additional developmental support, while they themselves receive practical tips and guidance for contributing to their child's growth through play at home as well. With the VVE Home program, parents can connect with what their child learns at preschool. Through fun activities, games and conversation, language development is stimulated and the bond between parent and child is strengthened. In this way, care and home work together for a strong start at elementary school.

The youth doctor at the childcare center discusses with parents whether toddler care could be a good support for their child. From the age of 2, children can attend two half-day sessions per week, and from the age of 2.5, four half-day sessions per week. The municipality of Kerkrade reimburses two of these four half-day sessions; for the remaining two, parents pay a small contribution.

Compulsory education and transfer point

Bureau Leren en Doorstromen Parkstad offers support to children and young people from the age of 5 who could use an extra helping hand in their development, school career or step towards work.

The agency helps prevent students from getting stuck or dropping out of school and works with parents and schools to see what each child needs to learn well. This includes not only school performance, but also motivation, self-confidence and well-being. In this way, every child - from elementary school student to young adult - gets the chance to grow, discover his or her talents and build a solid foundation for a successful future.

Only you determine who you are (AJB)

To provide a structured leisure activity for young people from 12 to 18 years of age from practical education or the basic and framework vocational courses of VMBO. With this we want to ensure a positive development of young people by introducing them to sports.

The AJB program encourages young people to participate in a team sport after school and have a leisure activity with structure. The trainer is a role model for the youth and provides extra guidance and a positive atmosphere in the team. Young people who participate in AJB become part of a sports team and receive extra guidance from trainers. Here they work on social behavior, learn to deal with authority and cooperate better.

Schools consult with the organization on which young people qualify.

Only you determine who you are
