Kerkrade businesses make good use of financial schemes
The NOW scheme allows companies with lost sales to continue paying their staff during the corona crisis.
According to recent figures, over €21 million was paid out to businesses in Kerkrade in the first period of the NOW scheme. Of the South Limburg municipalities, this puts Kerkrade in third place, after Sittard-Geleen and Maastricht. "Partly thanks to the municipal business contact point, Kerkrade companies have been able to find their way well to the national support packages. As a municipality, we are happy with that. We hope that with this support these companies will get through this difficult time and then be able to continue on their own again, " said Alderman Dion Schneider (Economic Affairs).
NOW 3.0
The Temporary Emergency Measure Bridging Employment (NOW) provides a relief in labor costs for companies that have at least 20% less turnover as a result of the corona crisis. Meanwhile, NOW 2.0 has been completed. However, the NOW scheme will be extended - under modified Requirements - through June 30, 2021. NOW 3.0 can be applied for from November 16, 2020.
