Kerkrade-based Michael Holzmann is Golden Neighbor of Limburg

Marianne Laumann nominated her opposite neighbor Michael for the Golden Neighbor Award. In front of his neighbors, and Alderman Alexander Geers, Marianne surprised Michael with his county title. 

Marianne: "My stalwart neighbor across the street, Michael, is always willing to help others, despite his busy full-time job and young family. Last year, when I broke my ankle in the fall, he took months to walk my two dogs daily. In the winter, he keeps the sidewalks clean for our elderly neighbors and recently, during flooding, he went around the doors to check that everyone was safe. Michael has love and respect for all things living, and is always open to good conversation, advice or help with chores, without being pushy. He is the best neighbor ever.Alderman Alderman Alexanders Geers adds: "A playful way to thank Michael, I understand from neighbors that he is always in the weather for others. So this award is well deserved!"
