Kerkrade gets a resource bag
Starting in November, Kerkrade residents can take a Commodity Bag to the street for free. In this large pink bag, hard plastics, inflatable items, old iron and white Styrofoam can be offered. With the Grondstoffentas, the municipality and Rd4 hope to keep more raw materials out of residual and bulky waste.
Collecting more raw materials directly from homes will make waste separation easier for residents. This should ensure that fewer raw materials are lost.
It is a trial, where the bag will be collected from November 2023 to May 2024 along with the BEST bag for free at home. Municipality of Landgraaf is also participating. If the trial proves to be a success, the Grondstoffentas can also be used in the other Rd4 municipalities.
Starter package in October
In October, all Kerkrade residents will receive a starter pack with further explanations. The starter pack contains a letter and a flyer as well as a BEST bag and a Raw Materials bag. So you can start collecting raw materials right away.
