Kerkrade East: building a bright future together!

To structurally strengthen livability and safety in Kerkrade East, HEEMwonen, Wonen-Zuid, municipality of Kerkrade, MeanderGroep and Impuls are entering into a long-term cooperation based on a shared ambition

Recently, various projects have already been started in Kerkrade East to create a neighborhood where people want to live. For example, the Rolduckerveld neighborhood is being tackled on a large scale with the demolition of large flats, renovation of public spaces and new construction combined with a social program for residents in combination with VIE. And the Bleijerheide-Nulland neighborhood is also being worked on to improve the safety and livability of the neighborhood. In addition, the innovative, circular area development SUPERLOCAL is part of the Bleijerheide neighborhood.

In addition to these wonderful developments that add color to the district, there is a need for an ambition plan that provides a strong foundation for the broad approach to Kerkrade East. In it, we formulate common objectives for the district and work them out in joint implementation programs. On this basis, the municipality, housing corporations and healthcare institutions in the district together with other partners want to enter into a long-term cooperation and make a structural effort to strengthen the welfare and well-being of residents. And thereby also increase livability and safety in the neighborhoods.
Citizen participation is of course an integral part of this.

Full of ambition, this partnership will get to work this fall, using the themes of Broad Prosperity as a starting point.

In doing so, we contribute to the ambition of developing Parkstad into a vital and livable region. This is how we build livable neighborhoods in Kerkrade East together!
