Social cement of the neighborhood

The harmony received the Royal Medal of Honor for its 125-year contribution to culture, social cohesion and heritage in Kerkrade.

Harmonie St. Gregorius Haanrade is a very active and involved society within the community of Haanrade. The harmony is actively involved in activities and events in the neighborhood. On the one hand by organizing its own performances and events and on the other hand by helping with the activities of other societies in Haanrade. The association is therefore an indispensable link in the neighborhood.

During the World Music Contest, the association also acts as host and rehearsal location for the participating national and international associations. And facilitates it with the instruments.

Securing intangible heritage

Harmonie St. Gregorius invests in training and enthusing young people and children. The association thus ensures the safeguarding of our cultural heritage towards the future. The association stays true to the traditional uniforms and traditions of a brass band. And within the harmony dialect is invariably spoken. With this the association makes a conscious effort to preserve and pass on our intangible heritage.
