Royal decoration for Mr. Sogeler

On January 20, Mr. A.P.H. (André) Sogeler (66 years old) received a Royal Decoration from Mrs. Petra Dassen-Housen, Mayor of Kerkrade, for his many years of dedication as a volunteer with the Sint Sebastianus marksmen's militia.

He was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Archery Saint Sebastianus
Within the Sint Sebastianus militia, Mr. Sogeler holds several positions:

  • He has been the building manager since 2005 and, as the representative of the archery to the municipality, he supervised the construction of the clubhouse, acted as an accomplice and installed the electricity. Since the opening of the building he has been in charge of the catering, permits and maintenance of the building and grounds.
  • Since 2006, he has served as treasurer with all duties.
  • Since 2007, Mr. Sogeler has been a firearms permit holder and a member of the Royal Shooting Sports Association (KNSA) as an OLS rifle master. He is responsible for all the necessary permits, administration and certification for this, management of the weapons and shooting supplies and the casting of the bullets.
  • From 2018 to 2022, he was the only remaining board member who ensured that the association continued to function under his leadership. He arranged for a new board to be formed. He also assumed the commander's office and the position of foreman from then on.
  • From 2009 to 2012, he served as secretary.

From 2006 to 2018, he served as an added board member at Schuttersbond Berg en Dal, and from 2018, Mr. Sogeler served as treasurer.
 

Volunteer Orange Association
Since 2006, Mr. Sogeler has been a volunteer at Stichting Oranjevereniging Kerkrade ward Spekholzerheide - Gracht. He is involved in the organization of Kings Day celebrations in the Spekholzerheide/Gracht district and responsible for technical matters.
