Preziedent of KVV 1936

Since 1997, Mr. Sterk has been preziedent (chairman) of Kirchroatsjer Vasteloavends Verain 1936. In this position, Mr. Sterk leads an association with more than 350 members. As preziedent, he chairs the monthly board meeting (Road of Elf meeting) and the annual general membership meeting. He also chairs various committee meetings. He has a very extensive range of duties: public relations work and contact for the media, choosing the annual city prince, accompanying the city prince and his family, presenting the KVV on various stages in Kerkrade and Limburg, making more than 50 visits during the carnival season, co-organizer of d'r Jroeese Tsóg and representing the KVV at Samenwerkende Limburgse Vasteloavendsverenigingen.

The KVV describes his commitment as, "In a very enthusiastic manner and with an awful lot of passion, these activities are carried out. At every visit, performance or chairing of meetings, Mr. Strong is present and his input is of obvious significance.'

KVC Orange

Mr. Sterk has been active with KVC Oranje since 2005. From 2005 to 2019 he was an active youth coach. All these years he was trainer of the same team and ensured continuity, growth, development and stability within this team. In 2019 - together with the youth team - he made the transition to the seniors.

As a former player, he has continued to give the association a warm heart. A good example follows, because the boys from this team mean a lot to the association in terms of volunteers.

Lions Club Kerkrade

In addition to his efforts and involvement with KVV 1936 and KVC Oranje, Mr. Sterk has also been a very involved member of the Lions Club Kerkrade for 20 years. From this membership, Mr. Sterk has dedicated himself to the preservation of secondary education in Kerkrade. And he was a catalyst in numerous fundrais actions for charities. The Lions describe Mr. Sterk as a socially committed Lions member with a heart for the weak in Kerkrade society.
