Royal decoration for Mr. T. Schmeits
Mr. T. B. M. (Theo) Schmeits (77 years old) received a Royal Decoration on November 23 from Ms. Petra Dassen-Housen, Mayor of Kerkrade, for his many years of service as a volunteer with STB (Sport and Trimclub Brunsummerheide) Landgraaf and as a volunteer of 't Bakkes. He was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
The presentation took place during the 40th anniversary celebration STB Landgraaf, Sportlaan 7, 6374 CM Landgraaf.
Volunteer at STB
In 2024 STB will be 40 years old, Mr. Schmeits is an avid member and volunteer from the very beginning. As a performance runner he was able to win several races. And as a volunteer he is very involved in the ups and downs of the association. Whether it concerns training, maintenance of the accommodation, organizing competitions, taking care of the club magazine or setting up location trainings, Mr. Schmeits can always be called upon.
Face of the association
For many people he is the face of the association, a point of contact and a source of information. Without volunteers like Mr. Schmeits, the survival of the association would be a lot more difficult. Every week Mr. Schmeits spends between 4 and 6 hours a week volunteering for STB, completely unpaid.
Volunteer 't Bakkes
In addition, Mr. Schmeits is active as a volunteer for 't Bakkes in Rimburg and acts as a controller of the walks of the Wandelgids Zuid- Limburg.
