Royal decoration for Mrs. Savelkoul

The presentation took place at Mrs. Savelkoul's home address. Her husband Jan was allowed to pin on the award. 

Late last year, Ms. Savelkoul celebrated her 25th anniversary as a volunteer with Koraal. In December 1995, she volunteered at Op de Bies. She wanted to do something useful with the time freed up after her retirement. She was welcomed with open arms and appointed as Ruud's regular walking mother.

Weather or no weather, every Tuesday morning Mrs. Savelkoul was there for Ruud. Together they had many hours of hiking fun.

Biespop, trips to the carnival, the Christmas market, the light parade and Gaia Zoo, the annual vacation.... Thanks to Mrs. Savelkoul, Ruud was able to participate in everything. They therefore built a close relationship with each other. When there was no longer a guardian for him, Mrs. Savelkoul submitted her candidacy to the court because she wanted to mean more to Ruud.

However, due to her age, tasks such as administration became too much for Mrs. Savelkoul at one point. She was worried about who could continue to do this for Ruud, so she started looking for someone to take over. However, she absolutely wanted to remain a volunteer at Koraal and therefore became Ruud's walking mother again.

Mrs. Savelkoul has also been putting her heart and soul into the "Recreation & Training" department of Koraal for many years. She provides the department with support for all the activities that are organized. Bar work at Koraal's own pop festival or during the carnival, cashier during carnival...Mrs. Savelkoul is a jack-of-all-trades and she is always present. Together with her partner Jan, she is a bright spot in the lives of Koraal's clients.
