Last chance to register for the NK Tegelwippen spring promotion
The registration period for the spring planting days is almost over. Residents can still register until January 31, 2026, to participate in the NK Tegelwippen (National Tile Flipping Championship) in Kerkrade. If the date in the spring does not suit you, you can also register for the fall until July 1.
To participate, remove one or more tiles from your front yard or facade and exchange them for a free plant package of your choice. The Tile Taxi will pick up your old tiles for free and ensure that your facade garden looks neat with edging.
Alderman Drunen (Sustainability): "We are in the final weeks of the registration period. Now is the time to get involved. Together, we can make our streets greener and prepare Kerkrade for the future."
Alderman (Public Space): "Whether you choose the TuinyZOO package, the Fragrant Plants package, or the Colorful package, every tile you replace with greenery will attract more animals, increase biodiversity, and, above all, make your neighborhood a nicer place to live."
Planting days spring 2026
There are three planting days in the spring. All days are on Saturday mornings between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Kerkrade West – March 21
- Kerkrade North – March 28
- Kerkrade East – April 11
