LEEF invests in innovative ideas that contribute to a healthier region

Innovative ideas to improve the health and vitality of Parkstad residents can count on a €10,000 investment grant from the recently established Limburg Early Execution Fund (LEEF). LEEF is part of the Vie Innovatie Hub Parkstad (VIHP). This is the innovative knowledge and expertise center of the Vie - Living on the Move program, which was born in Kerkrade. It serves to improve the health and vitality of the residents of Kerkrade and the region.

LEEF offers grants to support initiators with promising ideas in the field of health and vitality. This can be done in the research phase, but also at a later stage during the development of the idea. An important requirement is that the initiative must promote health in the South Limburg region.

Through a short pitch of up to 15 minutes, anyone with a good (vital) idea can qualify for an investment grant of € 10,000. A budget that serves to further develop the idea and to further investigate the support base in the region. Also, LEEF offers the three best pitches of the year the opportunity to borrow up to € 30,000, under very favorable Requirements. Evaluation will take place by a team of experts.

Alderman Huub Wiermans of the Municipality of Kerkrade: "LEEF stimulates initiators to develop creative ideas for health and vitality projects. It is precisely the free-thinkers who do not feel constrained by existing structures, rules and habits who can set changes in motion. This is extremely important at Vie - Life in Motion, because it is precisely here that unexplored paths must be explored and experiments in the field of health and vitality can reach maturity. LEEF will function as an integral part, as a co-promoter, in realizing the objectives of Vie."

LEEF is one of the products of VIHP and involves a collaboration between LIOF, ESZL, Stadsregio Parkstad and Vie.

Vie stands for life-long opportunities and is committed to programs that invest in the health and vitality of residents, young and old, in the street, neighborhood and district. In Kerkrade and the region.
