Since 1993, Mrs. Klein Breteler has been active as a collector for KWF Cancer Relief. In that same year, she also begins as an ambassador of d'r Kirchroadsjer Dialectverain by reading and reciting Kerkrade plays/books. Herewith she takes care of the preservation of the original Kerkrade dialect.
In 2004, Ms. starts as a coordinator at welfare agency Impuls and coordinates Yoga classes in her neighborhood. This group varies between 8 - 12 people.
From 2005 she has been a volunteer dialect recitation contest. Mrs. Klein Breteler practices reciting a poem in dialect with children. In this way she contributes to the preservation of the Kerkrade dialect as cultural heritage.
She has also volunteered for various positions at the Kerkrade Library since 2005. She helps with activity supervision and assists the librarian in conducting an activity. She also reads to the elderly in the library and to children in the elementary schools.
Ms. Klein-Breteler has been a volunteer at Parkstad Limburg Theaters since 2010. She accompanies guests in the theater, provides information, hands out program flyers/booklets and is a listening ear for theater visitors.
She has also been reading to elderly residents in a Meander nursing home since 2012, in Dutch and in Kerkrade dialect. Moreover, since 2014, Ms. has been a member of the board of the Holz Infirmary Section. Twice a year, at Easter and Christmas, a coffee table is served for the 110 people affiliated with this sick section.
