Meet the Meedenkers Kerkrade
It can happen to anyone: running into a situation or problem that is difficult to resolve on your own. It can be about money matters, parenting, care applications, education, housing or work. How nice is it then when someone thinks along with you about a solution?
Did you know that there are independent client supporters in Kerkrade who can help you with this free of charge? We will call these client supporters in Kerkrade "Meedenkers" from now on because that is exactly what they do: they think along with you and help you clarify your questions. They look together with you for suitable solutions and arrangements.
Meedenkers think with you from your interests. They are independent and therefore do not work for the municipality or service providers, but are deployed from Meedenkers organizations.
Celebratory launch
On Thursday, September 16, the name 'Meedenkers' was officially announced during a festive launch at the HuB.Kerkrade. In attendance were the six Meedenkers organizations KBO Kerkrade, Stichting Mentorschap Limburg, Steunpunt voor Mantelzorgers, Cliëntenraad SWI, Impuls and MEE.
Alderman Leo Jongen (Social Health) presented each Meedenkers organization with a framed Meedenkers poster for the occasion; you will soon be able to see these posters in various places in Kerkrade.
The Alderman expressed his appreciation for the important role played by the Meedenkers: "For someone who cannot manage on their own, the help of a Meedenker can be just the little bit of support they need to get things back on track. So as a Meedenker, you really can make a big difference in people's lives."
