Milestone for Kaalheide Bruist: urban planning vision approved
With the "Kaalheide Bruist" project, the municipality of Kerkrade, together with various partners, is going to develop a sports, residential and care environment on Kaalheide in which all users and the neighborhood are connected. In collaboration with Stichting BRUIS, RO Group on behalf of BVO Roda JC Kerkrade and Gen Residenties, HEEMwonen and Wonen Limburg Accent, an urban development vision has been worked on recently. This vision has now been adopted by the municipal executive.
Impulse for sports park and Kaalheide neighborhood
Alderman Tim Weijers (Housing, Real Estate and Spatial Planning): "With this project, a unique opportunity arises here to buildHealth) homes, renew the overall area and accommodate Roda JC's offices where training is also done. 'Kaalheide Bruist' not only gives a boost to sports park Kaalheide but also to the revitalization of the neighborhood. I see this as one of the pearls of our Housing Offensive, which focuses on high-quality housing and increasing the quality of life. Moreover, with this urban design we do justice to the rich past of our municipal sports park Kaalheide."
Sports, living and Health in one location
The urban development vision gives a global picture of the possibilities for the plans on Kaalheide and shows how the wishes of initiators can be fitted in spatially. Kaalheide Bruist' makes new construction possible for both the Bruis foundation and Roda JC Kerkrade. In this concept,Health) homes are also realized for the Bruis foundation and Gen Residences. A total of 120Health) homes will be realized, including 80 care homes and 40 regular homes. New housing will also be realized for the entire organization of Roda JC Kerkrade and for athletics club Achilles-Top.
Involvement of local residents
The plans will be explained to the council committee on June 19. Neighbors will be included in the further development of the plans and will have opportunities to participate. "We find it extremely important that the neighborhood supports this initiative and sees its added value. The concrete plans will therefore be coordinated as much as possible with local residents," said Alderman Weijers.
