You can also pay with mobile parking at roadside parking bays and post-paid parking lots. With mobile parking, you pay your parking fee afterwards using your cell phone.

For this, you will need a smartphone. 

The same rates apply for mobile parking as at the machine. Also, the first hour of parking is free.

Mobile parking is an additional payment option, so you can still pay at the parking meter.

To get started, you need to register once with one of the mobile parking providers that allow payment in Kerkrade.

Parking

Once you have parked your car at one of the locations where mobile parking is possible, you start a parking action with the provider you have signed up with.
How exactly this works varies per provider, you can find this on the website of the provider you have selected.

You then provide the zone number displayed on the parking meter.

Departures

After your visit to the center, you will return to your car, at which point you will sign out to the provider to stop the parking time.
Then you can drive away.

Pay

You pay the provider for the actual parking time, at a time and manner of your choosing.

Can I also pay by debit card or cash at these parking locations?

Mobile parking is an additional payment option, you can choose whether you want to use it. You can still pay at the vending machine.

How do parking attendants know I am using mobile parking?

The parking attendants have special equipment to check this. They enter your license plate number to verify that you are using mobile parking.
So you don't have to put a ticket behind your windshield.

With mobile parking, do I pay the same parking rate as at the machine?

The same rate applies for post-payment with mobile parking and prepayment at the machine. So the first hour is free everywhere.

You do need to take into account any additional transaction fees charged by the mobile parking provider.
