Netherlands high risk area for Germany
Since April 6, the Netherlands has been designated a high-risk area by the German government. This has implications for border traffic, with additional testing and registration requirements. We understand that Germany's decision is causing a lot of confusion and hassle among Kerkrade residents. Residents are also facing unexpected costs.
The Kreis Aachen has indicated that no exceptions will be made for Kerkrade/Herzogenrath. In Eurode, both mayors are trying with all their might to accommodate the residents and arrange this locally. For example, the possibility of setting up a test center at the EBC is currently being investigated and further discussions are underway regarding the price of a test. As soon as there is more clarity on this, we will report it on our website and social media.
We ask Kerkrade residents to postpone non-essential travel such as shopping and refueling. If you really need to cross the border, please read the rules on the Rijksoverheid website
You can also enter your personal situation on PANDEMRIC's web form and see which measures apply to you.
More information on where to test in Germany can be found on the 'Landesportal' of Nordrein-Westfalen
