Support for Neighborhood Rooms
The Neighborhood Rooms in Kerkrade receive 250 euros from the municipality of Kerkrade to organize activities in housing complexes for both residents and also residents of the neighborhoods. In the photo, Alderman Leo Jongen (right) symbolically hands over the amount of 250 euros in the foyer of the HUB to Herman Vleugels, chairman of the Neighborhood Room Norbertushof. In the background, volunteers from various Neighborhood Rooms in Kerkrade look on. The amount is intended as an incentive to develop and continue more activities in the residential complexes and is paid annually.
In the Neighborhood Rooms, over a nice cup of coffee, cozy activities such as crafts, card games and Maps are held. Attention is also paid to family events such as the death of a partner or, for example, a golden or diamond wedding anniversary. Fighting loneliness is the main objective of the Neighborhood Rooms. The project is part of Vie - Living in Motion. Partners are Meander Wonen, Impuls and the housing foundations Wonen Limburg, Wonen Zuid and HEEMwonen.
