Opening of public play area in Erensteinerveld

On June 17, 2021, Alderman Schlangen officially opened the new public playground located on Poyck Street in Ernensteinerveld. Children's mayor Hidde Sieler was also present at the opening.

The Erensteinerveld neighborhood in Kerkrade East has been ready for some time. In recent years, a lot of hard work has gone into developing the area. New homes have been built, sufficient green spaces are present and the neighborhood has future-proof facilities.

Meanwhile, many young families have found their place in the neighborhood.

Although very satisfied, residents expressed a need for additional infill in the area for the youngest neighborhood residents.

Alderman Schlangen: "As a municipality, we are very involved with our residents and want people to feel at home in our city." By realizing the new public playground, the municipality is responding to the request of local residents.
