Request overview of personal data delivered

What is it?

(Government) organizations can request data from you to the municipality. For example, for:

  • pensions
  • benefits
  • rent supplement
  • taxes
  • court cases

If you want to know what data the municipality has supplied about you, you can request a summary of it. You can do this in the municipality where you live.

How does it work?

To give you a complete overview, the municipality not only consults its own systems. It also informs which national government organizations have viewed your data.

What to do.

You request your statement from the municipality where you live. There are several ways to do this.

Additional information

The overview goes back a maximum of 20 years. That's how long the government must keep so-called "disclosures" according to the Basic Registration of Persons Act. However, this law only took effect on Jan. 6, 2014. Until then, the legal retention period was one year. Therefore, it is not always possible to retrieve all information from the past 20 years for you.
