Parkstad municipalities support residents with free energy advice and €250 worth of energy-saving measures
Kerkrade municipality is going to support residents who are entitled to the energy allowance in saving on rising energy costs. Kerkrade is doing this in cooperation with all Parkstad municipalities.
Residents entitled to the energy allowance will receive a free energy savings coach. They will also be offered a credit of €250 through the Parkstad Energieknip app. With this they can buy energy-saving products from affiliated hardware stores or the WoonWijzerWinkel. To this end, the Parkstad municipalities are working with a large number of social partners, who have united in a new partnership: the "Alliance for Energy Justice.
Digital wallet
The Parkstad Energieknip app is digital wallet one for energy savings. Using this app, residents of Kerkrade, Heerlen, Landgraaf, Beekdaelen, Brunssum and Simpelveld can purchase energy-saving products from affiliated hardware stores or the WoonWijzerWinkel. This coach will come to their home and advise them on which energy-saving products will help reduce their energy bills.

From energy poverty to energy justice
The phenomenon of energy poverty transcends both the municipal level and the short-term. That is why the Parkstad municipalities have joined forces with housing associations, tenant organizations, the WoonWijzerWinkel, educational institutions, health care institutions, and other community organizations in the region in the new "Alliance for Energy Justice.
