July 1, 2023 increase in driver's license fee by €3.50

As of July 1, 2023, the remittance from municipalities to the state (the RDW) for driving licenses will be increased by €3.50.
This has already been included in the dues ordinance of the Municipality of Kerkrade. As of July 1, 2023, applying for a driver's license will cost € 44.50 (this was € 41).

Digital Government Act

Since mid-2018, the driver's license has been made suitable as a public identifier. Its application was conditional on the entry into force of Article 27 of the Digital Government Act. This law and this article will enter into force on July 1, 2023 (Stb. 2023, 158, 159 and 160). The RDW has previously announced that the remittance per driving license application will then be increased by €3.50.
