Presentation plans for Kerkrade East on March 20
HEEMwonen, Wonen-Zuid, Municipality of Kerkrade, Impuls and MeanderGroep will invest in the livability of Kerkrade East over the next few years. The foundations for this were laid in the autumn of 2023, working together with residents, entrepreneurs and active organizations in the district on a joint ambition plan.

Investing in vitality and livability
The ambition for Kerkrade East is aimed at increasing the residents' level of prosperity and well-being and improving the livability and safety in various neighborhoods. With the "Together for Kerkrade East" ambition plan, the parties involved are contributing to the overarching ambition of City Region Parkstad to develop the region into a vital and livable region. The ambition plan was created in cooperation with residents, entrepreneurs, the voluntary sector and other organizations. Everyone was given the opportunity to contribute ideas about the future of Kerkrade East, both through pop-up locations at various locations in the neighborhood and through surveys and workshops in the Catharina Hoes. In addition, children from Bleijerheide Elementary School and De Diabolo shared their vision of their ideal neighborhood.
Together with residents, business owners and partners
In recent months, a large number of parties have worked together to create this ambition document. They will continue this cooperation in the coming years. The task is large and complex. The initiators therefore express a long-term commitment. In doing so, they explicitly seek cooperation with other parties who are active in the neighborhood and have already contributed to the ambition plan. They look forward to a joint effort with partners and residents to create a pleasant, safe neighborhood where everyone feels heard, seen and appreciated.
The "Together for Kerkrade East" ambition plan provides a basis on which residents, entrepreneurs, partners and investors can build. The next step is to develop an implementation plan in cooperation with various parties, focusing on the next 2-3 years.
