Problems with street lighting
There are currently problems with the street lights in a few places in Kerkrade. The lights sometimes go on too early or off too early. We would like to inform you about this.
Since April 2022, we have been working on a specific problem called the Tone Frequent (TF) problem.
In short, the TF signal controls when the street lights turn on and off. Sometimes this does not happen quite as it should, causing a light pole to burn too long or too short, or even several streets to burn abnormally. This is especially noticeable during the winter months.
Enexis, the company that manages this system, is working hard to find a solution. Fault-prone TF receivers have already been replaced in 2023, and 1,900 of the 3,000 TF receivers in light poles have been renewed. We expect that by the end of 2024 all TF problems will be solved and the lighting will be functioning normally again.
If you experience any problems in the near future, such as the street lights turning on too late or burning too long, please report this to Spie. You can do this by calling 088 -94 50 850, which can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).
In doing so, please provide the location information, including the number on the light pole. They will make sure the lights are repaired as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Together we are working for well-functioning and reliable street lighting in Kerkrade.
