Rolduckerveld in development: a neighborhood for everyone

Rolduckerveld will be renewed step by step over the next few years. Recently, a lot has been done on it in terms of housing and public space. Alderman Alexander Geers (housing): "We see that Rolduckerveld is taking shape more and more. Together with residents, HEEMwonen and Wonen Zuid, we are working on a livable, social neighborhood where everyone can feel at home."

Living

The first phase is complete: 44 new homes on Dir. Geurtsstraat have been completed and occupied. During October, 52 homes will follow on the site of the former - Blijde Boodschapkerk.

Two residential towers are under construction: Residential Tower Northeast (Dir. Schrijnenstraat) and Residential Tower West 1A (Hertogenlaan). Completion is expected in late 2026. In March 2026, the construction of 2 complexes with 62 apartments on the Mgr. van Gilsstraat will start, and from 2027, approximately 102 new homes will follow on the Ailbertuslaan.

Public Space

The streets, green spaces, play and sports areas will be completely renewed. Subarea North is located between Director van der Muhlenlaan and Director Schrijnenstraat. The park of this area will have new bicycle and walking paths, trees and colorful flower fields. In 2026 the sports and playgrounds will follow, which will be designed together with residents, so that the neighborhood really becomes a meeting place for everyone.

Neighborhood Making

Rolduckerveld focuses on a living environment where people enjoy living and developing. Social initiatives, such as a neighborhood garden/kitchen garden connect school, childcare and welfare. The Oostkamer is a central point of contact for residents' questions and ideas.
