Signal youth prevention
Anyone dealing with children and youth between -9 months and 23 years of age can send a signal. Not only individuals who work with youth, but also local residents who notice something within the neighborhood. Each signal is reviewed by the Youth Prevention Core Team before action is taken.
What is a signal about?
A signal focuses on the safe, healthy and opportunity-filled growing up of the children in the municipality of Kerkrade and:
- it transcends family, neighborhood, organization and the individual congregation;
- it concerns the target group -9 months (i.e. before birth) to 23 years of age;
- it focuses on the parenting and/or growing up of children and youth.
Anyone in Kerkrade can send a signal by sending an email to jeugdpreventie@kerkrade.nl.
When do you signal?
Before issuing a signal, the following questions are asked:
- What is your Health?
- In what ways do you encounter it in practice?
- Specifically, what do you see (numbers, how often, when)?
- Who have you already been in contact with and what has been tried to improve the situation?
- What is the problem that makes the signal not improve or not improve enough (no facilities, no contact parents, no contact with organizations)?
- What should improve?
