Game Without Borders returns in Eurode version

The Game Without Borders used to provide much entertainment for participants and audience alike. Eurode is organizing this game in a new, contemporary format on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The first edition will be in Kerkrade and will take place at the Markt, Martin Buberplein and in Vie. During varied games, encounters between candidates from Herzogenrath and Kerkrade take center stage. Not only the teams' sporting agility is called upon, but also their knowledge of their own neighbors.

Giving Eurode more face

The Game Without Borders returns because the Euroderaad wants to raise awareness of the partnership between Herzogenrath and Kerkrade. A public event is a good way to do this and will be organized on rotation in Herzogenrath and Kerkrade. Participation is open to teams of 6 to 10 people aged 16 and older. Would you like to participate with your company, association or group of friends? Then sign up quickly at beleef@kerkrade.nl and include the name and phone number of the contact person. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A limited number of teams can participate.

Entertaining games with spirit

A game circuit will be set up that will test participants' speed, strength and ability to work together. Of course, there will be a large inflatable obstacle course, rope pulling back and forth, and the fountains in Markt will be the stage for a soaking wet challenge. Brains will also be challenged with a quiz where participants must give as many correct answers as possible to (trick) questions about our neighbors. There will be a separate program for elementary school age children in the quiet setting of the Martin Buber Square with children's attractions, face painting and much more.

The event also features a fringe program with music.

Working together without borders in Eurode

The municipalities of Herzogenrath and Kerkrade have been cooperating intensively since 1998 to eliminate all kinds of borders for their residents. Thanks to this cooperation, there is, among other things, a special counter (Grensinfopunt) for residents who have questions about the consequences of living and working on the other side of the border. Emergency services work together to provide the right help as quickly as possible, regardless of the nationality of the victims or location of the accident. At events, cooperation with the neighboring municipality is also increasingly sought, such as with shuttle services during the Christmas event.
