Status of trail construction and rehabilitation of unguarded Meuser Street crossing
We have new information about the rehabilitation of the unguarded level crossing on Meuser Street in Haanrade. And about the construction of the footpath that will keep the Worm Valley accessible to residents and hikers.
ProRail requested the permits from the municipality
ProRail has applied for permits for the construction of the path, gates, fencing, veerasters, planting of (hawthorn) hedges, earthworks and renewal of the culvert at the existing railroad tunnel.
This drawing shows a sketch of the plans. You can read the application in the Electronic Municipal Gazette of May 24, 2023
ProRail plans to begin work in September/October
If everything goes according to schedule, ProRail plans to begin work in September/October of this year. They will then construct the path, make the old tunnel accessible and close the level crossing in about two months.
Local residents will receive a letter with information
Meuser Street residents will receive a letter of information from ProRail this week (week 21). You can also download this letter in PDF format
