Start of repair work near Domaniale Mining Street/New Street

No later than mid-September, repair work will begin near the traffic circle on Domaniale Mine Street/New Street. This as a result of the accident with an overturned truck on July 15. Diesel oil spilled onto the road and into the sewers. During the repair work, the Nieuwstraat section between Holzstraat and Domaniale Mijnstraat will remain closed in order to carry out the work safely.

The remediation work is taking place on German territory, which means that the German authorities are leading the cleanup efforts. The extent of the contamination to be cleaned up is not yet known. As a result, we cannot give a precise indication at this time of how long the work will take. As soon as we know more, an update will follow!
