Starting your own business is not always easy. Besides passion and perseverance, good preparation is one of the pillars of successful entrepreneurship. For almost 28 years, the StartersCentrum Limburg has been the starting point for anyone looking for help in starting their own business. We periodically organize inspiration meetings where participants can acquire a variety of 'starters' knowledge in a short period of time.

The 15th edition of this esteemed event will take place on Wednesday evening, May 10, 2023 from 19.00h-22.30h in the city hall of Maastricht located on the Markt. The event is free for anyone considering starting or recently started as an independent entrepreneur.

Did you know that the number of businesses in the Netherlands keeps growing? The Chamber of Commerce counted over 2.3 million at the end of last year, almost 6 percent more than a year earlier. The increase is mainly due to self-employed people without personnel (zzp'ers). Meanwhile, 17 percent of the employed labor force is an entrepreneur, up from 10 percent a decade ago. The growth is a trend that has been going on for a number of years, including in Limburg.
In 2022, the KVK (Chamber of Commerce) registered over 11,515 starters in Limburg (4% more than in 2021).

The Startersevent meets a clear need: getting together with other starters and entrepreneurs from the region to be informed and inspired about self-employment in a personal setting. In addition, the opportunity to network is considered a very valuable part of this evening.
After all, you never start alone!

Tailored to the starters' questions from daily practice, a varied seminar program has been put together for both the exploring entrepreneur and the already started. The event starts at 19.00 hours with a welcome speech by the Alderman. Following this, 7 1-hour workshops will be offered in 2 rounds:
- Starter and tax, tax issues for starting entrepreneurs (Tax Office)
- Your own company, the 10 steps (KVK)
- The Broodfonds, disability, pension etc. (Risk-Co / Reijans)
- Starting your own business with unemployment benefit (UWV)
- Personal leadership, how to take control of your own starting process - Straight Line Leadership
- How to conquer the heart of your ideal customer with Social Media? - Brand coach Muriël Snijders of Ill Graff Design
- Starting from Practice: 2 special startups enthusiastically take you through their startup story Laura Nieboer (Innowastion & Lubosch Land) & Natalia Westermann (Dotnsquare Vintage)
