Silent march Gino in Kerkrade

On Wednesday evening, June 8, 2022, the silent march for Gino van der Straeten will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Kerkrade. On the initiative of Gwenda Lankreijer - acting as spokeswoman on behalf of Gino's family - everyone who cares about Gino is cordially invited to participate in this march. The route of the silent march is from the Eurode Business Center to the playground on Hertogenlaan, where Gino was last seen.

On Roderland Lane and Ailbertus Avenue, 200 sturdy and beautiful cars and motorcycles formed a guard of honor. Gino loved these types of vehicles. The combination of the honor guard with beautiful cars and motorcycles, the ride through the Rolduckerveld neighborhood and the chosen final spot provides a respectful and dignified tribute for Gino, his family and friends.

Since Wednesday night the family lived in a raw reality, their Gino did not come home. Immediately they searched hoping to find him soon. Soon the police were scaled up and an intensive search was conducted in the municipality of Kerkrade and other places. Family members themselves and lots of volunteers participated in this. Hope gave strength to everyone at that time. That strength has been gone since Saturday. Gino will never come home again, will never play soccer or feel the love of his family. A hard blow for everyone. It is an event that deeply affects the entire community. The silent march echoes this feeling and responds to the wishes of Gino's family.

Route silent march
The gathering and departure point of the silent march is at the traffic circle near the Eurode Business Center, Eurode-Park 1. The route follows Roderlandbaan and Ailbertuslaan and ends at the playground on Hertogenlaan.

The silent march will start at 7:30 pm. Due to the expected crowds, participants in the march can gather at the traffic circle near the Eurode Business Center from 7 p.m.

Honor Guard
Some 200 cool and beautiful cars and motorcycles will form a guard of honor on the route of the silent march. The drivers of the cars and motorcycles have already been contacted by Gwenda Lankreijer. No more new registrations can be accepted.

Parking
Please walk or bike to the rally point whenever possible. Do you come by car? Then parking is possible at the Eurode Business Center, Eurode-Park 1, sports hall Rolduc at Rolduckerstraat 112, Abdij Rolduc at Heyendallaan 82 and the parking lot at the corner Honeestraat/Richerstraat.
