Malfunction turning street lights on and off

In recent weeks we have been receiving more and more reports of faulty street lights. As a municipality, we are in discussions with Enexis to ensure that the malfunctions are resolved.

Turning street lights on and off is done with a switching signal. Sending and receiving this signal is the responsibility of network operator Enexis. A malfunction has occurred in the reception of this signal, causing the street lighting not to switch or to switch incorrectly. As a result, the street lighting sometimes does not light up in entire streets or parts of streets or at the wrong times. The fault is still occurring throughout the province of Limburg. Enexis is currently working hard on a solution so that all lampposts will work properly again as soon as possible. As soon as the problem is solved, we will inform you via a news item.

Should there be a malfunction in the street lighting in your street in the meantime, you can report this malfunction to Spie Infratechniek. This company performs maintenance on public lighting for the municipality of Kerkrade.
