Failure of switching times public lighting
Network operator Enexis has informed the municipality of Kerkrade of a technical malfunction in the times when the public lighting is on. This malfunction is also occurring in several other municipalities.
Enexis indicates that in some places the public lighting is turned on too early in the evening and turned off too late in the morning. The lights are therefore on unnecessarily long. A technical team from Enexis is investigating the cause of the malfunction and is making every effort to resolve it as soon as possible.
The public lights did stay on at all times during the dark hours. This means that the malfunction has not led to unsafe situations. Enexis has stated that the additional costs of the longer burning time of the public lighting will not be borne by the municipality of Kerkrade.
