When do you call the fire department or municipality in the event of damage? And what can you do yourself?
No emergency, but fire department
During storms, the emergency room often receives hundreds of calls from residents experiencing inconvenience or damage. For situations that are not life-threatening, call 0900-0904 so that the 112 line remains free for life-threatening and acute issues, such as danger of collapse. Call 0900-0904 for loose roofing or siding or trees along public roads that are in danger of falling over. Situations that pose no danger, such as a fallen tree on the shoulder of the road, can be reported to the municipality. If it concerns a non-hazardous situation in your home or garden, you can take measures yourself. If in doubt, always call 112.
