Dukes Avenue alcohol ban area expansion effective Friday, Oct. 6, 2023

ONE of Kerkrade's alcohol prohibition areas will be expanded as of Oct. 6, 2023. Since 2009 an area, located in the neighborhoods Chevremont, Rolduckerveld and Erensteinerveld, has been prohibited. The Hertogenlaan (AH parking lot) will now be added to this.

Why ban alcohol in this area?
To prevent serious alcohol nuisance, the municipality may designate areas where alcohol may not be consumed in public places. In these areas you may also not carry alcoholic beverages in condense bottles, cans, glasses.

Fine and enforcement
Violation of the alcohol ban carries a fine of €100. Police and enforcement monitor the ban.
