Presentation of Martin Buber Plaque to Auma Obama
Tonight (after a two-year delay due to corona) the 2020 Martin Buber plaque was awarded to Auma Obama. She receives this award for giving many young people a "voice" through her Foundation "Sauti Kuu.

A special fellow human being

As the founder of the foundation 'Sauti Kuu' she helps children and young people in a fantastic way to discover and develop their strength and talent. With the goal: that children can lead successful and independent lives."
About Auma Obama
Auma Obama was born in Nairobi in 1960. She is the older sister of former United States President Barack Obama. She studied at the universities of Heidelberg and Bayreuth, where she graduated with a doctor of philosophy degree in 1996.
Martin Buber plaque
Since 2002, the Plaque has been awarded by the Euriade e.V. Foundation to people who have rendered meritorious service to their fellow man. This in accordance with the "dialogic principle" of philosopher Martin Buber. Previous recipients include Herman van Veen, Michael Gorbachev, Princess Irene van Lippe-Biesterveld, Peter Maffay, Garry Gasparov, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Thomas Quasthoff, President Klaus Iohannis of Romania, Paul van Vliet and Dries van Agt.
