Organization
Divided into three domains with diverse areas of focus, the Municipality of Kerkrade employs more than 440 people on permanent or temporary contracts. In addition, about 130 colleagues are employed in other forms of (social) contracts and secondments. The Public Order and Safety (OOV) department is part of the Administration domain.
In particular, based on the strategic goal of "Experience Kerkrade," the municipality of Kerkrade wants to cooperate in organizing events in order to be an attractive municipality to live in.
As an event permit issuer, you handle permit applications for events. You are in contact with initiators. You also deal with applications for incidental and permanent permits for fairgrounds and markets. Together with lawyers you handle objection and appeal procedures. What will you do as an Event Permit Officer?
- You will review applications for events and booths;
- You draft permits for events and booths, monitoring decision deadlines;
- You handle objection and appeal cases, along with legal counsel;
- You consult with initiators, local residents and other stakeholders;
- You have regular meetings with the responsible portfolio holder;
- You will be secretary of the local event consultation that includes emergency services;
What do we ask of you?
- You preferably have a completed MBO-4 administrative legal services degree, or have comparable work experience;
- If you have completed Special Laws training, we consider this a plus;
- You have a firm personality, are incisive and have a high degree of persuasiveness;
- You have good communication skills, both oral and written;
- You are managerially sensitive;
- You know what lives and plays in the congregation;
- You work in a planned manner and have a practical mindset;
- You are results- and goal-oriented.
General

Initially you will receive a temporary contract for the duration of 1 year. If suitable, this will be followed by permanent employment.
The Permit Officer position is valued in job scale 7 (min. € 2,255.00 - max. € 3,301.00 gross per month) for a 36-hour work week (Salary Table April 2022). The Municipality of Kerkrade has a system of entry, job and exit scales. The exit scale is scale 8 (maximum € 3,732 gross per month). (Salary table April 2022).
Fit in salary depends on your knowledge, competencies and experience within the work area.

The selection is as follows:
The procedure consists of up to three rounds of interviews and possibly an assessment. First an introductory interview (orientation interview) will take place. If necessary, there will also be an interview with a delegation of colleagues. If desired, an in-depth interview and possibly an assessment. An employment interview will then take place with the candidate we select.
