VOTING WITH A VOTER ID CARD


The Mayor of Kerkrade announces that at the upcoming election of the members of the House of Representatives of the States General on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, a voter is permitted to cast his/her vote at any polling station in the Netherlands.

In doing so, the following provisions apply.

A. WRITTEN REQUEST

  1. Forms for petitions to participate in voting at any polling station are available free of charge from Administrative Services, Civic Square Division of the City Council.
  2. The petition, as well as the voting card (if already issued), must be submitted by the voter to the mayor of the municipality where he/she was registered as a voter on Monday, February 1, 2021, no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021.
  3. The request shall not be granted if the applicant is allowed to participate in the vote by proxy or letter.
  4. If the request is granted, a voter ID card will be issued.

B. VERBAL REQUEST

  1. To this end, the voter, after receiving the voting card, but no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, must submit the voting card to Administrative Service, Civic Square Department of his/her residence where he/she was registered as a voter on Monday, February 1, 2021.
  2. The request shall not be granted if the applicant is allowed to participate in the vote by proxy or letter.
  3. If the request is granted, a voter ID card will be issued.

A voter ID card once issued cannot be replaced if lost. When you go to vote, you must present a valid ID in addition to your voter ID card. If you cannot identify yourself, you may not vote.
