VOTING WITH A VOTER ID CARD
The Mayor of Kerkrade announces that at the upcoming election of the members of the House of Representatives of the States General on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, a voter is permitted to cast his/her vote at any polling station in the Netherlands.
In doing so, the following provisions apply.
A. WRITTEN REQUEST
- Forms for petitions to participate in voting at any polling station are available free of charge from Administrative Services, Civic Square Division of the City Council.
- The petition, as well as the voting card (if already issued), must be submitted by the voter to the mayor of the municipality where he/she was registered as a voter on Monday, February 1, 2021, no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021.
- The request shall not be granted if the applicant is allowed to participate in the vote by proxy or letter.
- If the request is granted, a voter ID card will be issued.
B. VERBAL REQUEST
- To this end, the voter, after receiving the voting card, but no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, must submit the voting card to Administrative Service, Civic Square Department of his/her residence where he/she was registered as a voter on Monday, February 1, 2021.
- The request shall not be granted if the applicant is allowed to participate in the vote by proxy or letter.
- If the request is granted, a voter ID card will be issued.
A voter ID card once issued cannot be replaced if lost. When you go to vote, you must present a valid ID in addition to your voter ID card. If you cannot identify yourself, you may not vote.
