Celebrate Democracy Day in Kerkrade

Visit Council House on Sept. 15

Always wanted to know how local politics works? Or do you have an idea for your neighborhood but no idea where to start? Then this democracy night at the Council House is the night for you where you can share your ideas! Because believe it or not: democracy is not only topical now because of the national and municipal elections. It also belongs to you, your neighbors, young people and the association on the corner.

What to expect.

6:30 p.m.

  • Tour of City Hall + "Politically Active" mini-course
  • At the same time: Young people engage in conversation about current issues. What do they care about, and how do we make their voices stronger?

7:30 p.m.

Motion market! Not a markt with fruit, but with ideas. Share your plan about sports, culture or the city with council members and others. Who knows, it might become reality. Learn all about motions during the mini-course.

8:30 p.m.

Roundtable discussion on polarization: what divides us - and what brings us back together? Council members engage in conversation with various community groups.
