Ever since 2014, the site has had no real function and this is now being addressed. Those living directly around the Carisborg area were included in the municipality's ideas during an information meeting on May 20. The plans are now being further developed. In the first quarter of 2022, the municipality hopes to start implementation.
Plans
At the request of the council, the feasibility of the Tiny Houses was investigated.
realization. The cottages will surround the field hockey club's former canteen complex. This is a pilot of initially five years. If mutually agreeable, this term can be extended twice for another five years. Occupancy provides social control and this benefits the environment. In addition, residents of Tiny Houses tend to pursue a sustainable lifestyle. Partly for this reason, the municipality considers this a good location to start a pilot. At the location of the former main field there will be a life tree forest. The old training field will be planted as woodland.
Alderman Tim Weijers (Spatial Planning/Housing/Public Space): "It seems good to us to give the site of the former field hockey fields a new purpose. With the Tiny Houses we are trying to meet the desire among a certain target group for small housing and our choice for a life tree forest has to do with the great interest there is for planting a memorial tree."
