Volunteers Activity Association Kerkrade-West receive Star Team statuette
On Dec. 9, the volunteers of Activities Association Kerkrade-West (AV Kerkrade-West) were honored with the Star Team statuette. Alderman Jo Schlangen awarded this special statuette as part of National Volunteer Day. This day is dedicated to appreciating all volunteers who dedicate themselves to their community. These indispensable forces were also put in the spotlight in Kerkrade.
The Star Team statue symbolizes the appreciation of the municipality of Kerkrade for the indispensable work of volunteers. Alderman Schlangen expressed his appreciation: "Volunteers are the beating heart of our municipality and really make a difference. Their dedication and commitment make Kerkrade a warmer and stronger community. The work they do is invaluable to society. With this gesture, therefore, we would like to express our thanks, but also inspire others to work towards a stronger community."
Activity Association Kerkrade-West
AV Kerkrade-West is the beating heart of social and recreational activities in the neighborhood. Led by Ger Hummel, the association organizes numerous activities that bring young and old together. From atmospheric Halloween rides and cheerful children's discos to beloved traditions such as the Easter, summer evening and Sinterklaas bingo. The Saturday carnival afternoon is also a festive highlight each year that unites the neighborhood. Thanks to the efforts of these volunteers, Kerkrade-West remains a vibrant and close-knit community.
