Work on sewer in Enger Road.
For the new building plan D'r Pool the sewer in the Engerweg will be adjusted. A new sewer will be laid in a section of Engerweg (red line on the overview drawing below the news item). The new section will be connected to the existing sewer in Kapellaan.
The old sewer under the parking lots will be removed along with the demolition of the remaining basement wall of the pool area.
Remediation
On the corner of Engerweg with Kapellaan, a small soil remediation will be carried out first. After that, the work on the sewer will be carried out.
Work execution
For the new connection of the sewer from Engerweg to the existing sewer in Kapellaan, a new sewer manhole will be built in Kapellaan. Therefore, Kapellaan will be closed to through traffic.
Traffic measures
The Hambos will remain accessible during the work. The parking lots on Enger Road will be closed until past the work site and will be out of use during the work. These parking spaces will be used for the storage of construction materials. Engerweg will be partially dead-end during the work.
One-way traffic will be lifted on Einder Street during the work.
For accessibility to the parking lots on Church Square and the underground parking garage of the Residence Lambertus, a detour route will be established via Wijngracht - Martin Buberplein - Dr. Kreijenstraat.
(Supply) traffic to and from Markt can use Einder Street and Market Street.
Duration of work
Work will begin Monday, Oct. 20, 2025. Chapel Avenue is scheduled to be closed for approximately 2 weeks. The total work will last until approximately the end of November.
