Stores, sports clubs and hairdressers reopen as of Saturday, Jan. 15
For sports, practicing arts and culture, contact professions, retail and education in the Netherlands, more will be possible again from Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022. The cabinet has decided that stores, sports clubs, music schools and contact professions such as hairdressers can open again. There is also a tightening for wearing a mouth mask. The rapidly increasing and high number of infections with the omikron variant makes it necessary to continue the closure of other locations. On Tuesday, Jan. 25, the Cabinet will decide again whether more can be done.
As of Jan. 15, these measures are in effect:
- Keep 1.5 meters away everywhere.
- Stay home with symptoms and use a self-test. If the result is positive, get tested at the GGD.
- Receive at home no more than 4 people aged 13 and over per day. Visit no more than 1 household per day.
- Outside, the advice is to be together with no more than 4 people over the age of 13.
- All catering establishments are closed. Ordering and pickup is possible.
- Cinemas, museums, theaters and concert halls are closed.
- Essential stores, such as supermarkets and drug stores, are open until 8 p.m.
- Regular opening hours apply to gas stations, pharmacies, driving schools, the notary or lawyer, among others.
These measures are in addition to the measures and advice that already apply to everyone at the moment, such as the ground rules, the obligation to wear masks, the advice to do a self-test before visiting others and the home work advice. People aged 70 and over are advised to limit their contacts as much as possible, including with children and to keep 1.5 meters away from them.
