Woonberaad Parkstad: developers, housing associations and municipalities join hands

The city councils of the seven Parkstad municipalities have adopted a new Regional and Local Housing Vision. This means that the new Housing Vision is a fact a year after the installation of the new boards of B&W and all attention can already go to implementation.

The new Woonvisie (Housing Vision) gives direction to developments in the housing market and aims for livable and vital neighborhoods where it is good for everyone. This also translates into a great ambition in the area of new construction. And even though there are many headwinds with the rising cost of construction, there is still a lot of potential in the Parkstad region.

Market parties and housing corporations feel the same. Last Friday, July 7, under the leadership of Hamit Karakus (housing expert) a first meeting with market parties, housing corporations, municipalities and City Region Parkstad Limburg took place, at which it was expressed to each other what they need from each other in order to be able to really fulfill all the ambitions from the housing vision.

Tim Weijers, Alderman in Kerkrade and chairman of the Parkstad Housing and Restructuring Executive Committee, which provides regional direction for housing market policy: "It's good to see that the market parties and housing corporations are rallying behind our housing vision and that it's not just a vision. We are making a concrete commitment to implementation and will put our shoulders to the wheel together to achieve results!"
