Housing offensive: partnership 'The Composer' on Niersprink Street signed
Today the cooperation for the construction of 'De Componist' on Niersprinkstraat was signed by BRIX Real Estate and the Municipality of Kerkrade. With a festive act at the building, Alderman Tim Weijers and director Tom Reulings also heralded the start of the sales campaign.
Alderman Tim Weijers (real estate): "From the housing offensive, we have realized another great partnership for a leading building in the center of Kerkrade. After nearly 20 years of vacancy and dilapidation, BRIX Real Estate is transforming the building into 43 apartments. The first floor will become a commercial space."
Office and retail space and different housing types
'De Componist' will soon house approximately 355 m² of commercial space on the first floor. The residential tower has different housing types per floor: studio apartments, and two- and three-room apartments. There are a total of 43 apartments. The living area ranges from about 36 m² to about 77 m². Upon completion, different target groups will live in the building. This will create a mix of residents from young people and starters to seniors. All apartments have an external (bicycle) storage room, parking space and balcony/loggia. It is expected that the new residents will be able to move in by the end of 2025.
Further building a lively center
The office and retail building (including the former Zeeman) on Niersprinkstraat, which has been vacant for years, will be given a completely new look. After renovation, it will make a positive contribution to the liveliness of Kerkrade's town center.
