1.2 million euros for 184 new homes in Kerkrade

The Netherlands is in a housing crisis. More and more people cannot find affordable housing. That is why Parkstad is receiving €5.72 million from the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations for 23 construction projects. As a result, 835 new homes will be built in Parkstad this year, and no later than 2025.

Alderman Tim Weijers (Wonen), also chairman of the Administrative Committee for Housing and Restructuring of the City Region of Parkstad Limburg: "In recent months, we in Parkstad have stepped up our cooperation with market parties and housing corporations to work out building projects that fit our new Housing Vision. This cooperation has allowed us to successfully respond to Start Building Impulse. I see the allocations from the State as a nice result of this cooperation, with which we can ensure that the construction of 835 homes - despite the economic headwind - will not be delayed.
