Adjusting incorrect personal data

What is it?

De gemeente houdt gegevens over haar inwoners bij in de Basisregistratie Personen (BRP). Als uw persoonsgegevens niet goed geregistreerd staan, kunt u de gemeente vragen om dit aan te passen. Dit heet een correctieverzoek. U kunt uw gegevens controleren op MijnOverheid.

The BRP contains information about you in addition to your first names, last name, gender and citizen service number (BSN):

  • parents
  • nationality
  • marriage or registered partnership
  • death
  • registration in the BRP
  • residence (address)
  • children
  • residence permit (if you are from another country)
  • relationship of authority and receivership
  • travel document (passport and/or identity card)
  • suffrage

What to do.

  • U vraagt de gemeente om uw gegevens aan te passen.
  • Show that your information is incorrect. For example, in a letter from the municipality that states your data incorrectly. Or by making a screenshot of your details on MijnOverheid are.

Fouten in naam en geboortedatum

Fouten in uw naam of geboortedatum kunt u alleen bij ons stadskantoor laten aanpassen. Bel 14 045 voor een afspraak bij het Burgerplein van onze gemeente.

Overige fouten

Fouten in andere gegevens zoals hierboven genoemd kunt u online aanpassen.

Persoonsgegevens BRP aanpassen

What do I need?

  • your valid ID
  • a document containing your incorrect data
  • An official document containing the correct information, such as a marriage certificate

How long does it take?

  • Within 4 weeks, the municipality adjusts the incorrect data.
  • The municipality will send you a letter when your information has been updated.
  • You will also receive a letter about this if the municipality cannot or should not update your information.

If you disagree with the decision on your request, you can file an objection with the municipality.
