All municipalities in South Limburg sign cooperation agreement

Everyone Can Exercise Now Throughout South Limburg!
Unfortunately, sports and exercise are not yet a given for people with disabilities. Suitable facilities, expert guidance, transportation, or sports aids are sometimes lacking, even though sports are particularly valuable for this target group in terms of health, self-confidence, and social contacts.

With the addition of Maastricht-Heuvelland, all 16 municipalities in South Limburg are now affiliated with Iedereen Kan Sporten Zuid-Limburg (IKS ZL). This means that the partnership now covers the entire region. IKS ZL is committed to making sports and exercise more accessible to residents with physical, mental, auditory, or visual disabilities and/or behavioral issues. IKS ZL was already active in the Parkstad and Westelijke Mijnstreek regions. With the addition of Maastricht-Heuvelland, there will be even more options for the whole of South Limburg.

What can residents expect?

• Advice on appropriate and inclusive sports and exercise programs

• Support via the Sportloket Zuid (Sports Desk South)

• Advice and support regarding sports aids

• Introductory activities

• Contributing ideas in personal situations where extra support is needed
