Bridge over the railroad tracks on Toupsbergstraat closed to pedestrians

ProRail and the municipality of Kerkrade have closed the pedestrian section of the bridge on Toupsbergstraat. Following an inspection of the bridge, it was determined that the steel structure of the sidewalks has been corroded by road salt. This affects only the sidewalk. ProRail is currently conducting a further investigation of the bridge. 

At the municipality’s request, the bridge on Kaffebergsweg will also be included in this investigation. Following that, the next steps will be determined in consultation with the municipality. At the same time, the team is exploring which temporary solutions for pedestrians can be implemented in the short term.
