VGZ group health insurance

The municipality of Kerkrade attaches great importance to the health of its residents and good health insurance is part of this. Together with VGZ, the municipality has therefore put together a special health insurance policy for Kerkrade residents with a lower income. In certain cases, the municipality of Kerkrade can provide an annual contribution towards the premium.

How does it work?

You can choose between the comprehensive VGZ Zuid-Limburg package or the VGZ Zuid-Limburg package Compact. Choose the health insurance that suits you best

VGZ South Limburg Package

Do you need Health on a regular basis? Then the VGZ Zuid-Limburg package suits you well. It offers generous coverage, such as for glasses, contact lenses, dental care, orthodontics and physical therapy. The deductible is fully covered, so you won't have any unexpected costs.

VGZ South Limburg Package Compact

Do you incur few health care expenses and don't expect to use the deductible much, if at all? Then the Compact package is a good choice. You pay less premium, but are still well insured. The reimbursements are more limited and lower, and the deductible is not covered. You will have to pay any costs for this yourself.

The Municipality of Kerkrade can I certain cases give an annual contribution to the premium.

  • For the VGZ Zuid-Limburg package: €180 per calendar year per adult
  • For the VGZ Zuid-Limburgpakket Compact: € 90,- euro per calendar year per adult

Collective health insurance applications

Go to the VGZ website for more information. Here you can check eligibility, compare premiums and reimbursements, apply for insurance and switch packages. 

Are you not yet insured with VGZ? Then you can switch between November 13 and December 31, 2025.

Requesting municipal contribution

Do you meet the Requirements for the municipal contribution? Then you can apply for the contribution for calendar year 2025 online from Feb. 1 through Dec. 31.

Additional information

Requirements group health insurance

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You live in the municipality of Kerkrade
  • You (together with your partner) have a net income that does not exceed 1.5 times the social assistance standard
  • You (along with your partner) do not have more assets than allowed.

Requirements municipal contribution

  • Your income does not exceed 1.1 times the welfare standard applicable to you.
  • You have to pay your premium to VGZ every month.
  • If you have payment problems, you can make a payment arrangement with VGZ. Do you have a payment arrangement? Then the supplementary insurance will continue.
